The Cast Rooflight is brought to you by Clement Steel Windows Ltd.
Today Clement Steel Windows Ltd is one of the UK's premier window, door and rooflight companies. A family tradition of working with metal and glass goes back to the current Chairman's great-great-grandfather, who was an apprentice on London's Crystal Palace, which housed the Great Exhibition of 1851 whose patrons were Queen Victoria and the Prince Consort.
Clements are proud that the company has remained in the same family ownership since that time and therefore considers itself to be one of the oldest organisations of its type in the world.
It's a fact that in over 100 years the Clement family has only stopped making windows once. They were instructed to do so by the War Office in 1939; our engineers went to work constructing radar towers to be erected on the south coast of England, which helped the RAF win the Battle of Britain.
In 1964 the expertise of the business was proved beyond doubt after they were selected by Pilkington Plc to install the very first 'glas to glas' double glazed units. Pilkington directors flew down by helicopter from St. Helens to see the finished job in Farnham, Surrey, where units were glazed into Clement steel windows.
Clement Windows are council members of the Steel Window Association in 1980 Clement House, Haslemere, the current prestige headquarters, were constructed.
